Murder on Kilimanjaro is the seventh and final book in the Summit Murder Mystery series. In the midst of his re-election bid, the U.S. president sets out to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. He is joined by the African born son no one knew existed until now.  Scott Devlon is summoned to help guide and accompany his entourage. The intrigue and mystery that has been an integral part of every Summit Murder Mystery reaches crescendo as true characters and motives are revealed. When an attempt is made to kill the president, Scott is once again called upon to not only save the president, but avert worldwide crises when word leaks out that the president is dead.

Charles G. Irion is a publisher, author, adventurer, entrepreneur and philanthropist.  The impetus behind the murder mystery series was Irion’s participation in a 1987 expedition to Mount Everest from the China side.  Irion couldn’t resist creating plot-twisting, adventure-filled stories against the backdrop of the Seven Summits, the highest and deadliest mountains on the world’s seven continents.  In June of 2011, Irion joined a climbing expedition to Kilimanjaro.  The trip included a medical mission with the K2 Adventures Foundation, a non-profit organization and one of Irion’s philanthropic endeavors.  Irion also supports other humanitarian-relief organizations, such as Project C.U.R.E. Slingfin Creates New Climbing Tent Possibilities

High altitude climbers have a new option for shelter while scaling mountains. Slingfin has designed a tent, which according to the company, all of the components are equally strong, making the tent stronger as a whole. Based on Web Truss technology, Slingfin tents are designed to increase strength and are easier to set up. The system is constructed out a series of poles that fit into a continuous tent structure. All of the tent poles are made from aluminum and are the same length. This allows climbers to pitch the tent easier and faster. The company has also added reflective strips, in case the tent is assembled in the dark. The tents range in size from standard alpine and mountaineering tents to a 23 foot dome. Smaller structures are used for sleeping quarters for climbers, while the larger ones are used as dining halls and communication centers.
